Sooo... when are we gonna see the actual comic come back?

Reply plokman, January 27th, 2010, 8:27 pm

Give him a break Shadari! He's moving and he just got a PC that he can use at home after his last one died.

Reply SushiGummy, January 27th, 2010, 9:16 pm

I don't know what's scarier, the fact that it's true or that Sonic is in bed with Banjo.

Reply bucky-b, January 27th, 2010, 9:54 pm

I just lmaod at their Ren and Stimpy expressions XD

Reply Shade Guy, January 28th, 2010, 4:25 am

I laughed at Kazooie's 'Oh nom nom nom' thing.

And the rest of the strip, too.

Reply Yamataro, January 28th, 2010, 8:13 am

I lol'd. Period.

Reply JimLad, February 16th, 2010, 4:52 am

LMAO that is amazing.

Er... Nuts & Bolts was a fantastic game... lots of references back to the old games, there was humor, Grunty rhymed again, the vehicle creator was good (though I wish there was no part limit save for the 19x19x19 grid) and overall, the game was really good.

and after playing the demo of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing with Banjo-Kazooie, I have to say that, while it's a Mario Kart clone, it's a really good one... Besides, you can make it rain Jiggies!

Reply Dark_Yamatoman, March 12th, 2010, 7:50 am

While I really enjoy the serie's humor, the most important thing to me was always the gameplay, since as a kid, I didn't knew english (which made Grunty's Furnance Fun a freaking nightmare :P). Now, is Nuts & Bolts a good game? I don't know, If I had a 360 I'd check it out, but it's not the case. My problem with it, is that it's not a Banjo game, and after 7/8 years, that's all I was asking for :P

As for the Sonic Racing game, I really don't care about it, my hate came mostly from Nuts & Bolts and the fact that they're still using that hideous design XD

I don't really think it's your call to say that "it's not a Banjo game" when, well, you can't even play it. No, it's not a platformer in the strictest sense, but the main hub world, Showdown Town, leads to lots of both Banjo platforming, and then vehicle platforming with the only vehicle you can use in Showdown Town- the trolley. You unlock the high grip wheels (Talon Trot) and springs (jump), and then there's lots places you need those to get to in the Town. The actual worlds, while not as platform based, are still Banjo like. The music is still absolutely fantastic (Listen to Banjoland Main Theme- an orchestrated medley of songs from -Kazooie and -Tooie), the humor and references back to the old games are still there, Rare still takes jabs at themselves with things like Grabbed by the Ghoulies mocking (though that REALLY wasn't a bad game), and it's still a case of "Go here, talk to someone, go there, do something for them, get Jiggy." It's just set up in a slightly different way...
Final Fight kinda sucked, though... Not as dramatic...

As for their designs... I 'unno- their Boxart artwork isn't fantastic (much too detailed- look at his eyebrows!) but in game, and most of the other artwork, the cube look really works for Banjo. Kazooie's "Viva Pinata Look" doesn't look bad, either...
Though I wish Mumbo still had the textured skin, instead of it just being a straight pink color.

I know that judging a game without playing it first isn't the smartest thing to do, but before the game release, Rare themselves said the game would be pretty much 80% vehicles and 20% platforming, and after the game was out, most players, even those who liked it, tended to agree with that.

So no, I wouldn't say a game that is only 1/5 focused on classic platforming is a Banjo game. It can be a good game, yes, but in the end, It's seems to be as much of a Banjo game as Banjo Pilot.
Anyway, this is just how I see it. As I said, while I love the series humor, references and all that, the gameplay always came first to me.

About the music though, the only one I've heard was BanjoLand, and the only bad thing I can say about it is that it should be even longer, haha 8D

Creepy Banjo... You somehow made the Nuts & Bolts Banjo and Kazooie creepier than they already are, Dark_Yamatoman!

By the way, do you happen to remember me?

Reply Dark_Yamatoman, March 14th, 2010, 9:31 pm

Of course I remember you, E-Man! Good to see you back ;D

Reply E-Man, March 14th, 2010, 9:34 pm

Thanks, Yamatoman! Well, I couldn't let my hatred for Smack Jeeves keep me from ever coming back, could I?

Since I'm back, can I ask you to do a few favors for me?

Reply G.B.A, July 22nd, 2010, 3:37 pm

I liked Nuts and Bolts...

Reply E-Man, July 22nd, 2010, 5:08 pm

So did I, G.B.A. Although the game made Banjo and Kazooie look creepy and took away most of the platforming goodness, it was still a fun game! Getting to build stuff and modify certain machines was a great concept.

Reply G.B.A, July 23rd, 2010, 5:56 pm

You're kidding right? Banjo looked alright, I was more worried/freaked out by Kazooie's appearance.

Her design was basically trying to look more feminine...

Reply E-Man, July 26th, 2010, 2:45 pm

Now that you mentioned it, G.B.A, Banjo didn't look as bad as Kazooie. As for the other characters (i.e. Mumbo, Mr. Fit, Klungo), Rare did a good job redesigning them.

Reply GreyouTT, August 12th, 2010, 7:06 pm

Although they did change Wumba's skin colour

No.... @Zondekel: I'm pretty sure he KNOWS what he's talking about.... Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts sucked compared to the OLD Banjo-Kazooie video games :3 He's RIGHT, it's NOT a Banjo-Kazooie video game.... Banjo involved solving Jigsaw puzzles.... You never solved jigsaw puzzles. Banjo involved platform items to collect. Sure the musical notes but still. Banjo involved running around finding new moves.... You get fucking blocks and some wheels... Banjo involved NO DRIVING MECHANICS WHAT-SO-EVER...... Banjo involved big Googley eyes but we barely saw that -.- Jinjos have MISSIONS now? You were supposed to SAVE Jinjos, not do missions for them! And sure you DO save Jinjos in THE HUB WORLD, but that's not how it works.... And Minjos! They are ONE color now! They're supposed to look like Jinjos! Not a DEMONIC version of them! And MISSIONS! BANJO-KAZOOIE VIDEO GAMES NEVER MADE YOU SOLVE MISSIONS FOR TROPHIES! BANJO-KAZOOIE: NUTS AND BOLTS IS NOT A TRUE BANJO-KAZOOIE GAME! YAMATO KNOWS WHAT HE'S SAYING!
